Description

Each of the Amesha Spentas embodies an attribute of Ahura Mazda as well as a human virtue. In ancient Zoroastrianism they were the spirits of light and were regarded as the divine aspects of Ahura Mazda. Later they became distinct deities with a personality of their own. Male Amesha Spentas rule over the elements of nature considered masculine: fire, metal and animals. While the females rule over the elements considered feminine: earth, water and vegetables.

Asha Vahishta (Ardwahisht): means “Truth and Justice”, is the Divine Law and embodies righteousness, truth, order, justice and progress. It is the universal law of integrity. Every Zoroastrian has a duty to follow the path of Asha in every way. Asha is the personification of “fairest truth”. Keeper of the sacred fire, she was the second Amesha Spenta created and is the most prominent among the Amesha Spentas.
